Tiny Paintings and Delaying my Gratifications

Here’s just a little way for me to slow down and start adding some pressure free creation to my life.

I just seriously need to have some rest and escape in my life. I’m a painter but I don’t always paint, I tend to draw pretty regularly. What I have been lacking in, recently, is talking about things. Writing is something that I also love but I do so little of. There are a few pieces I have published under another name, which I will probably never reveal because I want to keep using it and it’s honestly way easier to cut your teeth when you’re someone well…else. But I want my own voice to be reflected in at least some space so I guess here it is.

I don’t have large intentions here other than to post a few times a week and sort of find my stride and have a place to locate these thoughts.

I’m thinking I have three lanes here that I want to alternate between. First, process pieces. I want to show how slow and fucking hard it is to make artwork. I think it’s probably important to track my own process again and have accountability for it. The second lane is review, so find some artists to review their work and really tack down what I like or dislike about it, what’s unique. The third lane is theory, art theory and generally the scholastic style stuff.

Anyways, I do want to start posting here more often. Especially because the ding dang website already charged me for the year so I’ve got at least that amount of time to pump some stuff out.
